The Buckeye Dairy Club had a busy week managing three breed
sales. The Guernsey sale consisted of 11 lots averaging
$2,495. The high-selling animal was Valley Set Val Mandy consigned by Valley
Set Farm of Goshen, Indiana. She was purchased by Brandy Armstrong of Chucky, Tennessee,
for $4,500. In the Holstein sale, 37 consignments
averaged $2,088. Two consignments topped the sale at $3,500. Dave Shannon of Mt.
Sterling, Ohio, sold The Shannons
RM Natalie to Kayebrook Farm, Urbana, Ohio.
The other sale topper was Wabash-Way Leduc Breck who was consigned by Wabash
Way Holsteins, New Weston, Ohio.
“Breck” was purchased by Alex Heger, Hamilton, Ohio.
The Jerseys also sold well with 24 lots averaging
$1,456. The high-seller, Shell Ray Extreme Marlinda, was consigned by David and
Shelly Eades of Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
She was purchased by Brian Hoy of Plant City, Florida,
The Ohio Ayrshire Spring Sale averaged $1,257 on 57
consignments. A fresh senior 2-year-old from Neil Kittle of Ontario,
Canada, topped the sale.
Masse Paddy Fabuleuse was purchased by Jessica Gatton of Crane, Missouri,
for $4,600. She was the reserve grand champion of the junior show.
The Midwest Revue Brown Swiss Sale was a success with 64
lots averaging $2,682. Sun-Made Collctn Crystal topped the sale at $7,200 and
was named intermediate champion of the show. “Crystal”
was consigned by Thomas Thorbahn, Vickery, Ohio,
and purchased by Brad Garst of New Windsor, Maryland.
The Ohio Spring Holstein Sale averaged $2,450 on 64
consignments. Lutz-Brookview Sassy F-ET, consigned by Robert Lutz of Fairfield,
Kentucky, was the $11,500 sale topper. She
was purchased by Gary Nurre of Iowa.
